Dieses Video ist Teil des videocity.bs-"Loneliness"-Zyklus. Dieser war vom 28.05. – 11.08.2019  von  Montag bis Freitag von 10 bis 13 Uhr am e-Board des Congress Center Basels aussen und zudem parallel innen auf dem Monitor in der Mediathek der Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst FHNW, 8. OG, Freilager-Platz 1, Basel-Münchenstein (dort  geschlossen 30.05. – 02.06.), zu sehen. 

In der Mediathek lässt sich der Unterschied zur Präsentation im öffentlichen Raum studieren.  Es ist eine traditionelle Präsentationsweise mit Monitor, Kopfhörer und Sitzgelegenheiten innerhalb eines konzentrierten, ruhigen, stilvoll gestalteten Ambientes. Besucher können hier das videocity.bs-Experiment selbst nachvollziehen und auf die Unterschiede zur zeitgleichen Präsentation im öffentlichen Raum achtgeben: Welche  Bedeutungsverschiebungen ergeben sich in der Interpretaton des gleichen

Werkes, das einmal mit (sofern vorhanden), einmal ohne Ton, sei es innen oder aussen, im Rahmen von videocity vorgestellt wird. 

In der Mediathek gibt es darüber hinaus die schöne Gelegenheit, im "integrierten Katalog" nach weiteren Bezügen zu recherchieren.

Additionally to videocity "Loneliness" screening at the e-Board, Congress Center Basel outside, between the 28 of May 2019 until the 11 of August 2019 this video was shown from Monday till Friday 10:00–13:00 on the screen at the Mediathek, FHNW Academy of Art and Design, 8th floor, Freilager-Platz 1

Our perception in the media library of the Academy of Art and Design FHNW is quite different from that experienced in the city centre. Here the videos are presented with their original soundtracks (two-thirds of them have sound). It is a traditional presentation with a monitor, headset and seating within a concentrated, quiet, stylish ambience.

Here the visitors can fully comprehend the videocity.bs experiment itself: those who are interested can here study the difference between the presentation in the public space and pay heed to the shifts in meaning that arise in interpretations of the same work, be they with or without sound, be it indoors or outdoors. There are additionally a wealth of books. But the experiment in perception can only be experienced by yourself, on your own.

"The Trout" video is shown on the eBoard of the Congress Center Basel, following the suggestion of the curator Andrea Domesle, as a splitscreen, meaning the two video images are mounted side by side in a 16: 9 format and run instantaniously in parallel. This allows a direct comparison of how the water level rises on one side while falling on the other, bringing either the woman and the fish into danger or else bringing both continued life. The split screen composition blends in very well with the architectural structure of the Congress Center Basel and picks up on the aquarium-like impression of the glass surfaces in the hotel interior. According to the artist, these are "made perceptible in a different way".

La vidéo "La truite" sera diffusée sur l'eBoard du Centre de congrès de Bâle sous forme d'écran partagé sur proposition des commissaires, c'est-à-dire que les deux images vidéo sont montées côte à côte au format 16:9 et fonctionnent directement en parallèle. Les images vidéo sont congruentes avec un aquarium chacune. L'écran divisé permet de comparer directement comment le niveau d'eau monte d'un côté et baisse de l'autre. Selon la situation, la femme et le poisson sont mis en danger ou les deux peuvent continuer à vivre. La composition de l'écran partagé s'intègre parfaitement dans la structure architecturale du Centre de congrès de Bâle et reprend l'aspect aquarium des surfaces vitrées de l'hôtel voisin. Selon l'artiste, ceux-ci sont rendus "perceptibles d'une manière différente" à travers la vidéo.
