Atelier Mondial -

Through my work, I explore the infinite possibilities of drawing looking at landscape, the built environment and the spatial perception generated by their observation and dialogue. The representations chosen and offered to the viewer take a look at the spaces that have marked both my personal and a more global history. The physicality of their presence is often what attracted me to these experiences of the living: a walk in the forest, the view of an open pit mine, the multiple effects of light, etc. Sometimes contemplative, introspective or political, the subjects touched by my work always conceal a profound desire to question the conventions surrounding the practice and the modes of presentation of drawings today.
As official definitions of drawing tend to rehearse the same words to determine its meaning: lines, mark making, pencil, and paper, it is the desire to break pre-established boundaries that impels me to test the limits of this definition. Sculpting objects out of drawing tools, using powders to draw, thinking of yarn as a line, drawing with light, folding the paper and shaping it against structures to make drawing literally stand on its own two physical feet; are some of the past and upcoming explorations of my work. I make it a rule to constantly try new techniques in order to keep a fresh take on the medium.
