Pedro Meier - "Body Counting" - "Years ago people worked here" - Art Performance and Installation - Art Campus Attisholz near Solothurn - Chain Reaction 2016. Performance and installation in the halls and ruins of the old chemical laboratory, in the former Attisholz cellulose factory and on the old factory site. Over 200 work suits and white chemical protective overalls, size XXL, were laid out on the floor in the factory halls at the former workplaces. A socio-critical questioning of the difficult working conditions in the laboratories and the cellulose cooking plant of this former Attisholz cellulose factory. The performance visualizes and reproduces the former precarious working conditions with a large-scale installation. The performance stages, imagines and suggests a surreal, magical dreamscape in these old, huge, windswept factory halls. Nostalgic voices are awakened and at the same time tilt into the tragic, fateful at the sight of these real factory ruins, eaten away by rust, sulphur and verdigris, overgrown with moss. Today, it is also a place of pilgrimage for the international graffiti art, hip-hop and rapper scene. The whole thing was captured on video and in photos.
