Abstract
The Pantry Content Images are a set 500 AI generated images about food items in pantries. The Scaling Material Urban Commons (SMUC) project ( used the images as data input data that project participants turned into ML training data through manual labelling. This served workshop formats that explored community-based machine teaching practices.
The Pantry Content Images were generated by the SMUC Data Generator ( that synthesized pantry contents based on EU statics of food consumption and fed this data as prompt into generative AI to generate the images. For detailed description see (
