KAFIC : Museum Café GfZK - Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig

KAFIC was a temporary installation 2010-2014, in form of the museum's café. The interior was built together with visitors of the museum, neighbours, a school class, and volunteers which found us through a call on GfZK's homepage, and in workshops led by empoyees of the museum: the maintenance person and librarian led the textile workshop and the technician led the wood furniture workshops. The museum interior was built through recycling furniture, from donated textiles from Leipzig's twin cities (Addis Abeba, Lyon, Nanjing, Houston, Birmingham, Travnik, etc.). The café was decorated with donated items.
