--- Presentation notes EN:

The video parcour took place from 28.05 to 29.06. 2014 between 9 and 24 o'clock. After a successful pilot phase in 2013 with video artists* from Basel, this year video artists* from all over Switzerland will be shown in shop windows, lobbies and entrance halls of shops and cultural institutions in Basel city centre.  The videos have been selected in such a way that references to the location are established: They comment on the content and create visual links to the surroundings.

There were 11 stations:  Congress Center Basel, Banca Popolare di Sondrio (Suisse), Bank CIC, unternehmen mitte, Der Teufelhof Basel, Confiserie Bachmann, Sony Center, Pfauen Basel, Theater Basel, Basler Kantonalbank, Ingenodata/Güterstrasse 133.

The following artists took part in the video parcour: collectif_fact, Ursula Palla, Beat Steuli, Eric Hattan, Anina Schenker, Chantal Romani, Ingeborg Lüscher, Alex Silber Company, Pipilotti Rist, Gabriella Gerosa, Daniel Künzler, Roman Menge, Peter Aerschmann, Haus am Gern, Sonja Feldmeier, Judith Albert.

Beat Streuli's photo and video compositions allow us to take an unusual intimate view into urban man in the midst of the metropolitan jungle. Through the compositional means of zooming in, the endless and hectic stream of passers-by is interrupted for a moment: snapshots arise, which separate the individual from the mass, revealing their fleeting expressions. Raw material from a street, and used for the  video "New Street (Birmingham), an installation which runs on three separate monitors, was recut as a single channel video especially for the presentation on the billboard screen of the Basel Congress Centre in 2014, being renamed "Pallasades Revisited" in the process and with a reference onto the day of depicting "Birmingham, UK, August 10".  A reciprocal dialogue takes place between the bustling commerical Messeplatz Trade Square and Streuli's close-ups in which the moment is frozen.
