Description
The cycle consists of four motets, whose texts are stanzas from a rare rhymed prayer to the BVM (in fact, a Marian contrafactum of a Christmas hymn by Enea Silvio Piccolomini). The cognate cycle C47a has an additional motet before the last one. This shorter version might be related with use during Matins, as suggested by the rubrics.
