Description

The cycle consists of six motets, whose texts derive from liturgical items associated with the feast of (and period after) Pentecost. Compare cycle C37a Spiritus domini replevit orbem (I-Mfd [4]), which contains motets 1-4 of this cycle with an additional motet.

WARD 1986, 507-508 proposes the reconstruction of a “virtual” seven-motet cycle combining motets from the present cycle and C37a.
