Together with the residents of the Mattenstrasse cooperative, I created a work on the
theme of neighbourhood, which resulted in performances on nine different balconies.
The cooperative, which is self-organised and consists of 35 people, embodies its vision
of a local neighbourhood where people from different backgrounds can live together in
an open environment.
In the one-hour show, the performers reacted to the environment and the different dy-
namics of each balcony. They used their experiences, dreams, problems and hopes of liv-
ing together in their neighbourhood in the performance.
The audience was encouraged to observe the performance, while wordless interactions
were accompanied by music and short, interactive scenes. At the start, there were a
few restrained repetitions and passive moments, which led to an argument performed
