Dürrenmatt's novella "The Assignment" states: "...the logical observation that every observed person has an observing person who, when observed by an observed person, becomes an observed person himself, a banal interaction which, however, when transported into reality, has a threatening effect, the observers feel caught by the fact that they are being observed".
After a phase of irritation and detachment, the process of assimilation begins. The audience becomes accustomed to the presence of the Big Heads, sits down at the table with them, touches them or conducts a one-sided monologue. The performance is a field of research into human behavior towards the strange and unknown.
