Anna VI – Floating Gaps

Performance for the book launch of "Floating Gaps - Performance Chronik Basel (1968-1986)":

I borrowed cultural-theoretical and philosophical quotations, statements by artists on the performance situation in Basel in the 1970s/80s, statements by the editors and visual material from the publication. This material flows into a subtext that is enriched with my knowledge of the canon of postmodern dance of the 1960s/70s and its offshoots in New York in the 1980s. I trained as a dancer in New York during these years. The protagonists of this scene were, among other things, the driving force behind the performance in Switzerland and are also mentioned in the book.
With my performance of memory, the momentary orientation in the exhibition space of General Public in Berlin, with image panels, created from archive material of performances by the protagonists of postmodern dance and with the support of all those present, I try to conjure up past moments and history(ies) in situ and restage them on site.
