The Convertible Entrance Ticket
(2006)

In today's society, money is a commodity, a speculative item that shapes the destinies of entire nations and the relationships between people.
Our capitalist and status-based bureaucratic economy is the result of an ideological mindset that both disregards people's sense of freedom and ignores the most decisive changes in the development of modern society. Therein lies the cause of the crisis that today essentially threatens the whole of modern civilization and humanity.

With its approach, the performance "The Convertible Entrance Ticket" aims to draw attention to the overwhelming power of money and its consequences, so that a new sensitivity to values can take place in society.

Admission to the contemporary art space "La Rada" in Locarno cost CHF 10, and visitors received a CHF 10 ticket stamped by J&W (Art Label for Jacomella & Walther). The ticket was then validated as usual by tearing it up and returned to the visitor.

The admission ticket, consisting of a stamped and torn 10-franc banknote, could be converted into a banknote in exchange for a new one.
