In der Backstube des Denkens

In der Backstube des Denkens is a serious, comic-humorous lecture performance that deals in a tangible way with the concepts of thinking, with the understanding of time and with strategies of procedure and process: Dough is kneaded, texts and buns are assembled with materials, and at the end everything is put into the oven. The presented text montage cannot be separated from the performative act and is remotely reminiscent of a cheap, imperfect TV cooking show.
The performance lasts around 40 minutes. It should be viewed in the context of Peter Radelfinger's visual and journalistic work. His strategies of using images, texts and objects to create ever new constellations and interstitial spaces, to create meaning and absurdity through montages, are reflected both in his extensive graphic research, including Joke and Aah..Aha!, as well as in his latest publications Falsche Fährten and Sowohl als ob (both Edition Patrick Frey).
