Blut: The Syrup Of Life
(2014)

https://www.reinesprochaines.ch

They are here incognito and transform the sweet juice of life into sounds and gestures. Fuchs, Michèle; Madörin, Fränzi; Mathis, Muda; and Zwick, Sus; know about transformation, disguise and exposure - and are completely themselves. They play with words and throw images of suffragettes, widows, gray eminences and colorful emancipates. Yes - but don't worry, this is the historical part of the Funny Feminists All Star Show. Otherwise, a cheeky ghost comes to visit and, of course, Professor Doktor Doktor from the University of Massachusetts. Les Reines Prochaines sing songs, blow, pluck and beat on their instruments: Bass, clarinet trumpet, saxophone, keys and glockenspiel. They have a minimalist, uncouth sound and make uninhibited use of everything that touches their hearts. Their performances include stylistic colorations of tango, cabaret, Balkan, mariachi, piano lounge, klezmer and Brecht/Weil. Les Reines Prochaines sing about the great strands of life: sleep, love, sex, the twists and turns of many a biography and ask themselves: Where is the dog? Why is the spinning top round? Why is it so warm in bed? Is the color grey a synonym for rushing beauty? What parts does a person consist of? LRP believe in poetry, magical realism and the fantastic in miniature.
