Santa Madera
(2019)

https://www.stationcircus.ch/

Santa Madera means “holy wood” and is a production by the duo Juan Ignacio Tula and Stefan Kinsman. The two artists, who both grew up in South America, are inspired by the ceremonies and rituals of traditional festivals in which Palo Santo, or holy wood, is used. The duo twist and turn, creating breathtaking choreographic movements on a cyr wheel, and produce slender lines on the floor, impressions of bodies, hands and feet. Potent images that leave a lasting impression on the spectators.
