Conceived as a reflection on the links between stage environment, art object and body, TELL ME takes place within TROPES, an exhibition by Charlotte Herzig and Sarah Margnetti. The painting, conceived by the artists as a set, a stage in waiting, hosts the creations of Old Masters, Léa Meier, Julia Perazzini and Anaïs Wenger. Gathered by affinity, the performers explore different modes of social staging of the self - individual or collective. They bring other performative situations into the art space: fashion shows, scientific conferences, concerts or YouTube videos. Replaying these already scripted or theatricalized moments, the performances decipher a certain relationship between identity and frames of representation. Various locations - stage, podium, amphitheatre - are superimposed on the exhibition space, disrupting its own codes of interaction. The title TELL ME refers to the eponymous 1979 piece by artist Guy de Cointet (1934-1983), who was one of the first to combine visual poetry, conceptual art and theatrical forms in an investigation of language. At La Ferme de la Chapelle, TELL ME evokes this research into interpersonal communication and relationships with the environment and the works of art. The murals are transformed into objects-decors, objects-scenes in the midst of which the public and performers become fictional characters, semiotic subjects. Evening organized by Collectif Détente as part of the Festival Antigel.
