'Know The Future' is a reflection on one's curiosity about what the future holds. Parvez uses ritualistic patterns and instructions to create a potential for encounters with the public.
The visitors are instructed to 'ring a bell' to show their interest in knowing the future. However, ringing a bell is also a kind of signal to alert someone. Thus the act of ringing the bell - which also requires a person walk up to the centre where the bell is kept (rather than remaining a passive viewer) - in itself is a pointer to whatever question one may have about the future.
The artist also uses non-verbal, symbolic responses to those who rang the bell in a way that each of his responses remain open to multiple interpretations.
