Sympoetic Desires

The complex entanglement of bodies, sex, technology and sculpture is the subject of Johanna Bruckner's dance and media performance Sym-poetic Desires. A speculative sex robot is presented through a physical staging in a polyrhythmic cyberspace with the aim of undermining technology-saturated world views of intimate relationships. The robot stores information and then processes it into actions based on training. This generates pleasurable data landscapes, redefining access and connection in data processing. The resulting data landscape encourages polygamy, polymorphism and micropolitical viruses.
