18 projects, half from Switzerland and half from the rest of Europe, create overall images with naked bodies, the circulation of passers-by and the surrounding architecture. In addition, the impact of the naked body in the context of urban space, media and the public sphere will be reflected upon. Conceptual projects can also be seen that use the direct presence of the naked body to interpret public space as a platform for statement and interaction. The exposure and vulnerability of the naked body, but also its power and charisma in the field of tension between "civilized" urbanity and "raw" nature are made visible.

The festival will take place on Friday/Saturday 21/22 August 2015 in the center of Biel/Bienne. This bilingual Swiss city is regarded as tolerant, open and receptive to experimental projects. After a liberal approval practice in 2009 for a performance with 18 naked people, a "city walk with nude accents" was only partially approved in 2014. The realization of the unauthorized part resulted in a fine. The Naked Performance Festival 2015 has been approved by the police again and is even financially supported by the cultural authorities. It is limited to the pedestrian zone in the city center.

Kunst und Performances im öffentlichen Raum sind heute als irritierende Anreger willkommen und gern gesehen. Es darf mittlerweile im Stadtraum alles gezeigt und performt werden, was auch im Kunstraum und im Theater stattfindet, nur der nackte Körper scheint hier ein Tabu zu sein. Das Body and Freedom Festival will das ändern. Es lotet Möglichkeiten des nackten Körper im städtischen Raum und Alltag aus und trägt dazu bei, ihn hier als Mittel künstlerischer Gestaltung zu etablieren. Das Festival hatte eine enorme Medienpräsenz, bis ins europäische Ausland und in die USA, nachzulesen auf der Webseite des Festivals: bodyandfreedom.com. Die meisten Performances sind mit Video und Foto dokumentiert und auf der Webseite oder auf vimeo unter Naked Projects anzusehen. Videoschnitt der Zusammenfassung Thomas Zollinger. In Zürich fand 2018 ein 2. Body and Freedom Festival statt.

Ich habe den Bericht zum Body and Freedom Festival im Einreichungsformular vergessen aufzuführen. Der Bericht ging auch an die Kulturbehörden.
