In the garden of the house where my studio was located (Laupenstrasse 49), I swung a video camera attached to a string around me. My model was the NASA probe NEAR Shoemaker, which explored the meteorite Eros and landed on it on February 12, 2001 at the end of its exploration.
In my video study, the forces acting on the camera pushed the image recording to its limits. This work is a dynamic self-portrait that also addresses the medium and its limitations.

In "0.4702" testet Huwiler die Leistungsfähigkeit einer Videokamera, indem er sie an einem Seil um sich herum kreisen lässt. "0.4702" beträgt der Zeitlupen-Faktor, so dass die in Tat und Wahrheit schnell vorbeiflitzende Landschaft erst richtig sichtbar wird. Dass die Arbeit zu einem Selbstporträt der Sonderklasse wird, ist ein interessanter Nebeneffekt. Verblüffend und faszinierend; ein Meisterwerk in der Umsetzung von Bewegung.
