I am sitting on a chair. I have a pad of paper measuring 25 cm x 25 cm and a black drawing pen. I take one sheet at a time and work on the sheet on my face with my hands. I rub, crumple, tear. I bite, I tear. I work with my tongue and also with the drawing pencil. I use it to draw faces on the individual sheets of paper that lie on my face and then use my hands to rework the face I have drawn on the paper that remains on my face. In this way, one sheet follows the next. The last sheet disappears into my mouth. I spit this ball of paper out again and place it on the seat at the end of the performance. I leave the performance area. The chair on which the roll of paper lies remains, the other utensils are scattered on the floor next to the chair. I used 37 sheets of paper in total.

Das Kleine Format ist kein Performance Festival, sondern ein Gruppen-Ausstellungsformat für kleinformatige, bildnerische Werke, das aktuell alle zwei Jahre durchgeführt wird. Andrea Pfister ist massgeblich beteiligt. Ich bin für die Ausstellung 2012 speziell von Irene Häcki Sarwa (Kunsthistorikerin) eingeladen worden, die damals zum Team des kleinen Formates gehörte. Ob sie es heute noch ist, weiss ich nicht. Die Performance wurde von Priska Ketterer, Fotografin aus Luzern, fotografiert. Die Fotos sind das einzige Dokumentationsmaterial der Performance Im Vorfeld der Performance sind drei kurze Videos als Ideen-Skizzen entstanden. Video 1 ist eine Selbstaufnahme in meinem Wohnzimmer. Video 1 und 2 sind im Boesner in Zürich entstanden und von Irène Häcke Serwa gemacht worden. Sie dienten zur Klärung des Papierformates und welcher Zeichnungsstift sich am besten zur Umsetzung der Zeichnungen auf dem Papier im Zusammenspiel mit dem Gesicht eignet.
