Dieses Video ist Teil des videocity.bs-"Loneliness"-Zyklus. Dieser war vom 28.05. – 11.08.2019  von  Montag bis Freitag von 10 bis 13 Uhr am e-Board des Congress Center Basels aussen und zudem parallel innen auf dem Monitor in der Mediathek der Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst FHNW, 8. OG, Freilager-Platz 1, Basel-Münchenstein (geschlossen 30.05. – 02.06.), zu sehen. 

In der Mediathek lässt sich der Unterschied zur Präsentation im öffentlichen Raum studieren.  Es ist eine traditionelle Präsentationsweise mit Monitor, Kopfhörer und Sitzgelegenheiten innerhalb eines konzentrierten, ruhigen, stilvoll gestalteten Ambientes. Besucher können hier das videocity.bs-Experiment selbst nachvollziehen und auf die Unterschiede zur zeitgleichen Präsentation im öffentlichen Raum achtgeben: Welche  Bedeutungsverschiebungen ergeben sich in der Interpretaton des gleichen

Werkes, das einmal mit (sofern vorhanden), einmal ohne Ton, sei es innen oder aussen, im Rahmen von videocity vorgestellt wird. 

In der Mediathek gibt es darüber hinaus die schöne Gelegenheit, im "integrierten Katalog" nach weiteren Bezügen zu recherchieren.

Additionally to videocity "Loneliness" screening at the e-Board, Congress Center Basel outside, between the 28 of May 2019 until the 11 of August 2019 this video was shown from Monday till Friday 10:00–13:00 on the screen at the Mediathek, FHNW Academy of Art and Design, 8th floor, Freilager-Platz 1

Our perception in the media library of the Academy of Art and Design FHNW is quite different from that experienced in the city centre. Here the videos are presented with their original soundtracks (two-thirds of them have sound). It is a traditional presentation with a monitor, headset and seating within a concentrated, quiet, stylish ambience.

Here the visitors can fully comprehend the videocity.bs experiment itself: those who are interested can here study the difference between the presentation in the public space and pay heed to the shifts in meaning that arise in interpretations of the same work, be they with or without sound, be it indoors or outdoors. There are additionally a wealth of books. But the experiment in perception can only be experienced by yourself, on your own.    

The frozen motion animation "Superwoman" shows a female figure in the pose of the famous Superman - with outstretched arms - flying over mountain peaks. Whereas the original comic hero flies high above skylines of US metropolises in his fight against the villains of this world, Superwoman sails up against obstacles. Here one sees a steady stream of oncoming traffic in the form of cute decorative cushions or doilies buzzing along. These are all accessories of a sphere in which society still prefers to see women today: Within the cosy home, beside the stove, in the lap of the family. Superwoman has mobilized superpowers to fly out of the restrictive sphere of female existence into freedom. Superwoman has decided that even perfidious obstacles in the air cannot hold her back. The question of where her escape shall lead is deliberately not answered in the work. Will she fly high or crash down after the collision? Once free, almost anything is possible.

Le film d'animation en stop motion "Superwoman" montre une figure féminine dans la pose du célèbre Superman - les bras tendus - volant au-dessus de sommets montagneux. Alors que le héros original de la bande dessinée vole au-dessus des métropoles américaines dans son combat contre les méchants de ce monde, Superwoman navigue contre les obstacles. Ici, on voit un flot de circulation continu en sens inverse, sous la forme de jolis coussins décoratifs ou de napperons bourdonnant. Ce sont autant d'accessoires d'une sphère dans laquelle la société préfère encore voir les femmes aujourd'hui : au sein d’une maison confortable, à côté du poêle, dans le cadre familial. Superwoman a mobilisé des super-pouvoirs pour sortir de la sphère restrictive de l'existence féminine et s'envoler vers la liberté. Superwoman a décidé que même les obstacles aériens perfides ne peuvent pas la retenir. La question de savoir où sa fuite doit la mener n'est délibérément pas résolue dans cette œuvre. Va-t-elle voler haut ou s'écraser après une collision ? Une fois libre, presque tout est possible.
