Abstract
Characterized by its uniqueness, unrepeatability, corporeality and fugitiveness (Gabriele Klein/Wolfgang Sting) performance art exhibits a certain intrinsic – not to mention physical – disinclination towards being archived, which is inherent to the collection areas of an archive within the performing arts as well as at the SAPA foundation. Therefore, SAPA has actively taken part in the think tanks prior to the symposium. Reflecting upon the conception and collected material, the lecturer outlines the conditions – that according to SAPA – are necessary for the integration of performance art into Switzerland’s archival landscape.
