Abstract
Mayara Yamada is developing a series of performances entitled Marara Kelly Art Show, an "auto-mythology" guided by the persona of Marara Kelly, a festive alter-ego of sorts. Her body being the main support of the work, it is inhabited in turn by Mayara and Marara. In an evolving narrative, the artist blends aspects of her Brazilian and Amazonian culture, her historical interest in the plurality of performative forms and her critical approach to their documentation and reconstitution.
Mayara Yamada is a Brazilian artist based in Lausanne.
