Abstract
The newly produced Chapter 15 Sci-Fi Opera: Sleep Tracking App Loop Station
Island by Louise Guerra is composed of a stage, backdrops, costumes, props, and scripts inspired by Italian avant-garde composer Luigi Nono’s opera about female revolu- tionaries. Louise Guerra’s version is imagined for the historical figure Louise Michel (1830– 1905), an anarchist and revolutionary from the Paris Commune. Both research-based and fictional, a commentary on contemporary society and forward-looking, the installation hints at possible feminist practices of the future.
