During the performance Overdubbing, images selected in part by the audience are scanned by Pascale Grau with a camera and simultaneously accompanied acoustically by Claudia Grimm. Further soundtracks are superimposed live as the two performers, with their backs to the projected images, begin to speak unplanned. Finally, in loops, the entire acoustic material collides with itself and with the image sequence running in the background.
The multi-layered media translation (image - film - word) creates a shift in content and sensory perception that ties in with practices of remembering, in which the body becomes a repository of one's own memory as well as cultural memory.
